I Can Feel My Body Rotting Like A Peach Left In The Sun
Jake Dibeler with Macy Rodman and Billy Fortini
September 26th, 2015
"...and breastless creatures under ground
Leaned backward with a lipless grin.
Daffodil bulbs instead of balls
Stared from sockets of the eyes!
He knew that thought clings round dead limbs
Tightening its lusts and luxuries.
...He knew the anguish of the marrow
The ague of the skeleton;
no contact possible to flesh
allayed the fever of the bone."
- T.S. Elliot
American Medium is pleased to present Jake Dibeler's I Can Feel My Body Rotting Like A Peach Left in The Sun. While fitting with the style of past performances by Dibeler — a two-person show employing simple props and stage-dressing to punctuate spoken word and choreographed movement — this one-night performance will be the first where Dibeler forgoes performing in the show himself, assuming the role of writer and director. Written in the manner of a Eulogy, the audience bears witness to a memorial service for Dibeler, where Macy Rodman and Billy Fortini guide us through the final passage from this earthly realm to the great beyond.
